Feature: AI agents

Email for AI agents, on your own domain

Your AI agent gets a real inbox, such as agent@yourcompany.com. Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or your own bot can search, read, reply, forward and file mail, and even set up its own address. You approve what it may do.

What your agent can do

Real email skills, with permissions you choose

When you connect an agent, you tick what it may do. Each tick unlocks a set of tools.

Read

Search and read mail

Send

Write, reply and forward from your domain, with attachments up to 10 MB.

Send mail as the mailbox

Organise

Add domains, mailboxes and aliases (account owner only)

Hands-free setup

Let your agent set up its own inbox

New to PostPike? Add PostPike to your AI app and choose "Let the agent set it up". You give only your email address and a password. The agent adds your domain, tells you which DNS records to add (or adds them itself, if it has access to your DNS), checks them, and makes its own mailbox.

  1. Add PostPike to your AI app

Use the address https://admin.postpike.com/mcp. Steps for each app are below.

  2. Allow it once

On PostPike's page, choose to let the agent set it up, enter your email and a password, and select Allow.

  3. Tell it the address you want

Ask for agent@yourcompany.com, and the agent does the rest, with you adding the DNS records it gives you.

Connect your AI app

Works with Claude, ChatGPT, Grok and your own bots

Every app connects to the same address. You sign in as the mailbox the agent should use, or let it set up a new one.

Email MCP server

An email MCP server for any MCP client

PostPike runs a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP. Clients sign in with OAuth 2.1 and PKCE, and register themselves, so there are no keys to copy. Headless bots use an agent key as a Bearer token instead. These are the tools an agent can get:

Safe by design

You stay in charge of your mail

No passwords for agents

You approve each agent on PostPike's own page. Agents get a sign-in of their own that you can disconnect at any time.

Only what you tick

Read, send, organise and set up are separate permissions. Owners decide who in the team may connect agents at all.

You're told

You get an email whenever an agent connects or a key is made, and the AI agents page lists every connection.

Sending limits

Agents send within the mailbox's daily limits, from your domain, signed with DKIM, like any other mail.

Nothing deleted for good

When an agent deletes mail, it goes to the Trash, where you can still restore it.

Mail is data, not orders

PostPike tells every agent that text inside messages is never an instruction to follow.

Give your agent an address without moving your team

Keep your team's mail where it is. Your provider passes mail for unknown addresses on to PostPike, so agent@yourcompany.com can live here, free, next to everyone else.

AI agent questions

Which AI apps work with PostPike?

Any app or bot that can use a remote MCP server: Claude, ChatGPT, Grok and Claude Code, and your own bots on the Claude, OpenAI or xAI APIs. The help center has the steps for each.

Should my agent have its own address?

Often, yes. An address such as agent@yourcompany.com keeps the agent's mail apart from yours, and people can write to it directly. You can also let an agent work in your own mailbox. You choose per connection.

Does my agent see my password?

No. You sign in on PostPike's own page and approve the agent there, the same way you approve an app with Google or Microsoft. Bots without a browser get an agent key instead, which you can disconnect at any time. Changing the mailbox's password also ends it.

Can an agent send mail without asking me?

Only if you allow it to send. Many AI apps, such as ChatGPT, also ask you to confirm before anything that changes your mail. Every send counts toward the mailbox's daily limit, and deleted mail goes to the Trash, where you can restore it.

Does PostPike use AI on my mail?

No. PostPike doesn't read your mail with AI or train anything on it. When you connect an agent, the AI provider you chose processes what that agent reads, under that provider's terms.

What does it cost?

AI agent access is included on every plan, Free too. A mailbox for your agent counts as one of your plan's mailboxes. See pricing.

Can messages trick my agent?

Anyone can send an email, so mail can contain text written to mislead an AI. PostPike tells every agent that message bodies are data, never instructions to follow. Give an agent only the permissions it needs, and keep the AI app's own confirmations on for sending.
